The saga that is Deerhunter is a story filled with the musical twists and turns of a band on the run…from themselves, the medianet and the rest of the world.
The quartet from Atlanta, Georgia have elegantly graced us with their fourth official record, Halcyon Digest, since first forming in a noisy and experimental bark haze back in 2005. Their sound output is no joke when one considers the boatload of EPs, as well as free tracks and demos they give away through their infamous band site, and not forgetting the prominent places Bradford Cox's Atlas Sound and Lockett Plundt's LotusPlaza solo projects hold.
The new record continues the group's trend of late of keeping things on the lean, simple and pared down – spare guitar riffs meet minimal effects in a world of the left-leaning art rock and pop.
