You gotta love the vets of any musical scene and what they can bring to the game… patience, leadership, and a take-no-attitude ‘tude. The duo – and once-married – of Sam Coomes and Janet Weiss have been kicking around for a few decades now (see Sleater Kinney, Heatmiser, Elliott Smith, and The Go-Betweens as proof positive). With eight records under their belt, Quasi don’t fuck around, keeping their rock bent, loud, and bold, light on special effects and doodads, as Coomes croons about nothing really with a big grin on his mug.
